A piece of hardwood Kobe Bryant signed after his last game has been sold at auction for an eye watering price.
On Saturday 3rd October at a Heritage Auction event a piece of hardwood that Kobe Bryant had signed after his last game before his tragic accident has been sold for $631,000. The auction was held eight months after the tragic accident in which the NBA star and his daughter Gianna sadly lost there lives when the helicopter they where traveling in crashed.
The hardwood that Kobe signed was pulled out of the Staples Center Floor to be sold at auction. Bidding for the piece of hardwood started at $500,000 but quickly increased to $600,000. Ten percent of the final sale was to be donated to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation which was set up after the tragic helicopter crash.
Even eight months on it is still hard to believe that Kobe is gone but his name will forever be immortalized in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
